Blackened Salmon

  • 1 piece salmon with skin on
  • 3 tsp cumin
  • 3 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp thyme dried
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt or other high quality salt
  • black pepper freshly ground, to taste
  • olive oil extra virgin
  1. Use a cast iron pan or other oven safe pan, heat to med-high on stove top.
  2. Preheat oven to 400
  3. Rub the salmon with spice mixture
  4. Sear both sides of salmon for 1 minute each side, then put pan in the oven for 5 minutes. You can adjust the time depending on how you like your salmon cooked, and the thickness of the cut. Should flake easily with a fork when done.
Recipe Notes

The spice mixture is way too much for one serving. Store in a resealable container or bag for future use.
